Welcome to Rotary Year 2009-10

Dear Rtn. Friends,

Namaskar!

The Rotary Wheel is a symbol that has neither beginning nor end.  Though it appears that we are ending one year and beginning a new year of Rotary activities, the truth is that our work is like that wheel, ongoing with Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self' at its hub.

A new morning brings new opportunities, new ideas, new hope and something 'NEW' also gives Encouragement and to Quote Sri Chinmoy "Encouragement is of constant need, both in the inner World of progress and in the outer World of success". In our Rotary, New Term is up on the Horizon and so, we welcome this opportunity to reflect and realign our goals for the coming Rotary year.and thus we on behalf of incoming team for the year 2009-10, are writing this letter to learn about the wishes and expectations of the members and also to get your support and thus get encouraged to take on the difficult task ahead.

For the successful Rotary Year, we welcome all suggestions and ideas for events, projects, regular meetings which you feel would make rotary more meaningful, more lively and more enjoyable. We would also like to have suggestions for Good Speakers and trainers who can come to deliver the speech/training workshop in our Rotary Meetings.

The enthusiasm with which Rotarians embraced the ideal of service is evidenced by Rotary's principal motto, "Service Above Self" and its other official precept, "He Profits Most Who Serves Best." The roots of both of these adages, adopted as official mottoes at the 1950 RI Convention, can be traced back to the first decade of Rotary's existence, when "He profits most who serves his fellows best and Service not self were both put forth as slogans. Thus, we would ask the fellow Rotarian brothers to contibute through open hands for any of the Community Service Projects which may be close to his heart. If someone is interested in the any of the permanent project relating to betterment of society, kindly let us know immediately.

New members are lifeline of any organisation and we look forward to induct new members, who in particular would be interested in rotary and would have time to attend the meetings. So, we request all members to look out for some good new members.

"The future of Rotary is in your hands" this is the slogan given by the President Rotary International 2009-10 but we feel that the future is not only in your hands but in our hands and if we are together hand in hand working for the rotary, we can be sure that we would had a good rotary year for us to enjoy and to quote Vince Lombardi- "People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society".

We ask you again for your support in the form of a renewal of your commitment to everything that Rotary represents, both as it exist within our local communities, and in the great world beyond. We ask that you commit just a little more of your time and a little more of your energy to the good works of Rotary.  We ask that you consider digging just a little deeper into your pockets, to enable us to reach just a few more among that limitless hoard of people who are so desperately in need of our help.

On behalf of the team 2009-10, we assure you that we shall do our best to make the rotary year 2009-10 meaningful and enjoyable.

Finally, we ask that you join us and all of the great Family of Rotary in common resolve that we will, together, make the coming year a great Rotary year! To end we would like to quote the following prayer

A Prayer - By Frank D. Sherman
It is my joy in life to find
At every turning of the road
The strong arm of a comrade kind
To help me onward with my load.
And since I have no gold to give,
And love alone must make amends,
My only prayer is while I live-
God make me worthy of my friends

Thanking you in Anticipation,

Yours in rotary

President(2009-10)         Secretary (2009-10)
