Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Well it is Spring Time and Spring leads to joy, happiness and romance. The light air of the springs does some magic to the hearts and soul of the human beings. I would like to quote here the part of the beautiful poem "The Life of Love" of The Great poet, artist and mystic, Mr. Kahlil Gibran in which he describes about spring:
SPRING
Come, my beloved; let us walk amidst the knolls (hills), for the snow is water, and Life is alive from its Slumber and is roaming the hills and valleys.Let us follow the footprints of Spring into the distant fields, and mount the hilltops to draw Inspiration high above the cool green plains.
Dawn of Spring has unfolded her winter-kept garment and placed it on the peach and citrus trees; and they appear as brides in the ceremonial custom of the Night of Kedre*.
The sprigs of grapevine embrace each other like Sweethearts, and the brooks (fresh water stream) burst out in dance Between the rocks, repeating the song of joy; And the flowers bud suddenly from the heart of Nature, like foam from the rich heart of the sea.
Come, my beloved; let us drink the last of Winter's Tears from the cupped lilies, and soothe our spirits With the shower of notes from the birds, and wander.
In exhilaration through the intoxicating breeze. Let us sit by that rock, where violets hide; let us Pursue their exchange of the sweetness of kisses.
* Kedre = A night during the Moslem Lent when God is said to grant the wishes of the devout.
We at rotary club Jaipur Round Town have also planned something great in this Spring Season which would be enjoyed with family.
It's a matter of Great Joy for us that Rtn. Ratnesh Kashyap of Rotary Club Jaipur South has been elected as DG 2011-12 of our District and this week we would be having the Felicitation programme of our Newly Elected DG and hence all are requested to attend positively along with the family, the details of which are as under:
In India Holi is the festival of spring, the festival of romance, the festival of the triumph of good over evil, a festival of colors and festival of fun and pranks. The festival is celebrated on the full-moon day of Phalguna. As the tradition goes all the people gather around on a day before the Holi as we know it, it is the evening of bonfires. People light up bonfires of dead leaves, twigs and sticks and people dance and sing around it to welcome the Spring and commemorate the saving of Prahlad and burning of his wicked aunt Holika. People take embers from this holy fire to rekindle their own domestic fires.
AND SO, Next Special, for the Rotary Club Jaipur Round town in this Spring Season is a programme filled with colors, masti, pranks and great laughter, YESSSSS! It's Holi Meet and we also have a great Surprise for you in this Holi Meet. We have invited Shri Sunil Sanwaria, Laughter Challenge Contestant and TV personality to tickle your funny bone. Thus, the details of the programmes are as follows in which all are requested to participate and enjoy along with the family:
The regular meeting of Wednesday, 4th March and 11th March are clubbed with the aforementioned meetings.
